Do you think your business has what it takes to stand up to the best and brightest in the cloud? Presentations for the Forbes The Cloud 100 list for 2022 is now open until May 21.
Produced in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures for the seventh year, the Cloud 100 list honors the fastest growing and strongest private cloud companies in the world, from recent rocketships to supporters of decades.
A quantitative and qualitative list, the Cloud 100 takes into account financial metrics, reputation and culture to determine the key players in the industry. Nominated companies submit data (within the ranges provided) to be confidentially assessed on valuation, revenue and growth rate to generate a financial score. That score is taken into account along with a people and culture score derived from several third-party sources and a market leadership score determined by several dozen fellow CEOs of public companies. (Some of whom are now the same alumni on the list.)
Dismantle Stripe No. 1 last year, the $ 95 billion payment business will not prove easy. But as 17 companies on the 2020 list went public before the 2021 edition, many of last year’s lists have already dropped off the list, including No. 4 HashiCorp and No. 5 Toast. The 2022 list will try to build on the 34 newcomers who climbed the Cloud 100 rankings the previous year.
With a combined market value of over $ 500 billion in 2021, the Cloud 100 list bar rises every year, with typical list makers making significant revenue and carrying valuations approaching or exceeding $ 1 billion. But raising funds from venture capital is not a requirement to appear on the Cloud 100 list. Candidates must be private and not majority owned by another company.
In addition to the first 100, Forbes and its partners collaborate on the Cloud 100 Rising Stars, a roster of emerging cloud computing. Faithful List Canva started out as a rising star. Eligible companies have raised $ 25 million or less in total funding and are rated based on financials, marketing, leadership, people, and culture in an unranked top 20.
Forbes publishes the full list, insights like last year’s profile of Figma Outstanding Design Software, and more every August. List partners host an event for list makers throughout the year. Name your business, or one you feel deserves consideration, on thecloud100.com.
