Star Wars skins and lightsabers are returning to Fortnite

This week, those who recognize the holiday will be celebrating Star Wars Day. A day that falls on May 4th every year because the fourth is known to be with you. Get ready to hear it a lot tomorrow. As for how you can celebrate the occasion, a lot of Star Wars content will be returning to Fortnite to celebrate. From lightsabers to skins to blaster rifles.

There have been rumors for weeks that Fortnite players would once again have a chance to wield lightsabers, and this has now been confirmed by Epic. The weapons will be available around the island in green, blue, purple and even in the exclusive red version of Kylo Ren. Lightsabers have divided Fortnite players in the past. While some consider them overwhelmed, others were losing the rest of their gear in favor of lightsaber-only battles the last time they were in the game two years ago.

As for the skins, nine of the ten Star Wars characters previously added to Fortnite will be available over the next two weeks. The only Star Wars character who doesn’t return to the island is The Mandalorian. This is due to the fact that it has been added as an unlockable Battle Pass, not someone you can purchase via the in-game store. Boba Fett will be returning however, as will Rey and Finn who were originally added to the game in 2019.

Lightsabers won’t be the only Star Wars weapon available in The Loop starting tomorrow. You will also be able to find Blaster Rifles scattered around the island via Fortnite Chests. There will also be limited-time missions to complete which will remain available, along with everything else mentioned, for two weeks, then until May 17, 2022.

As Star Wars returns to Fortnite, a character from another Disney IP leaves. Moon Knight will leave the in-game store this week, just before the show’s season finale debut on Disney +. As for other things to watch out for this Star Wars Day, fans are hoping there is some sort of official confirmation that Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is indeed in the works.
